New Weekly magazine rates the Lemon Detox Diet as one of the “20 best Celeb Slim-Downs..ever”

LAXATIVE TEAS AND SALT WATER

After the first day or two on an all-liquid diet like the The Lemon detox diet, the body most likely will not produce a bowel movement.

However, while cleansing, it is important to try to have at least a couple of bowel movements a day. To assist with this, a mild laxative herbal tea is recommended. Drink one cup of tea in the evening before bed and and the sea salt water in the morning.

The laxative tea will help break up solid intestinal wastes, and the salt water will flush them out of the system. Some people find that certain laxative teas induce cramps, so be sure to start with a mild brew when trying it for the first time.

Regarding the sea salt-water drink…

As it is necessary to bathe the outside of our bodies, so it is with the inside.

The sea salt-water drink will produce a bowel movement because its salinity level is similar to the salinity of our body and therefore cannot be absorbed inside our digestive track.

The salt and water will not separate but will stay intact and quickly and thoroughly wash the entire tract in about one hour. Several eliminations will likely occur. The salt water has the same specific gravity as the blood, hence the kidneys cannot pick up the water and the blood cannot pick up the salt.

That is why the sea salt-water drink is such a great laxative. When mixing the sea salt-water drink (two teaspoons dissolved in one litre of warm water), make sure to use uniodized sea salt and not table salt! You should try and drink as much of the 1 litre drink as possible. Finally make sure you stay near a restroom for the next hour.

If the taste of the salt water is uncomfortable for you, you can substitute it for another cup of the herbal laxative tea instead.

Drink the sea salt water first thing in the morning.
